PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY.
1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the supply of goods sold by STA Group Ltd., under its trading names, STA Electrical, STA Securities, STA Smart Homes and STA Lighting.
1.2 Where applicable, this contract is superseded by the conditions on sales through STA trading names.
1.3 These terms and conditions apply to any orders placed by you (whether in-store, by telephone, via our website or by others means agreed), and are subject to acceptance until the transfer of goods.
1.3.1 Transfer of goods is defined as either (i) delivery of goods to you, or (ii) supply of goods in-store.
1.4 The processing of your payment and acknowledgment of your order does not constitute legal acceptance of your order.
2.1 The price payable for the goods you order or purchase on our website at the time you submit your order plus any charges for delivery as advised to you. All online prices include the current applicable VAT rate.
2.2 All prices are correct at time of going live/print, we reserve the right to change the price at any time due to any circumstance(s). We are not obliged to accept your order or purchase for goods and may decline it or limit the order quantity.
2.3 We may have promotional offers and advertise goods at a lower price; to take advantage of this you must quote the relevant promotion code at the time of order, otherwise you may be charged the full price.
2.4 We are constantly updating our products, prices and offers, and whilst we have used the best technology and equipment available to us, we realise that we sometimes may make mistakes. In such circumstances we will always try to honour our offer, however there may occasions where it is not possible for us to do this. In these cases, we will endeavour to contact you and resolve the situation, if an agreement cannot be made we reserve the right to refuse your order and refund any payment you may have made.
2.5 Any order placed, whether in-store, by telephone, via our website or by others means agreed must be paid for in full before your order can be processed unless we have agreed otherwise in advance in writing.
2.6 By using a credit/debit card/PayPal to make payment you confirm that (i) the card/account being used is yours or (ii) that you are authorised to use the card.
2.7 All payments are subject to credit checks and authorisation. If the issuer of the card or PayPal refuses to authorise payment we reserve the right to reject your order without notice. We will not be held responsible for any fees the card issuer/PayPal may charge the card/account holder as a result of payment(s) requested in line with your order. We will not be liable for any loss of business as a result of the item not being delivered or provided to you.
2.8 If you are a trade customer, please contact us for our terms and conditions.
3.1 The title of goods shall not pass to you until you have paid for the goods in full and, where there is no outstanding balance owed to us. Until that time, you shall (i) not be entitled to use the goods; (ii) safely hold the goods for us; (iii) return the goods to us immediately if we ask you to; and (iv) be liable to us for any loss, damage or destruction of the goods. In addition, until title in the goods passes from us to you, you shall store the goods at your own cost separately from all other goods in your possession and marked in such a way that they are clearly identified as the property of STA Group Ltd. You grant us an irrevocable licence to enter, with or without vehicles, any of your premises for the purpose of inspecting or repossessing the goods.
4.1 All goods are subject to availability. While we endeavour to hold enough stock to fulfil all orders, in rare occasions there may be insufficient stock. In such circumstance, we will attempt to contact you asking you how you would wish to proceed. Where we can partial an order we will, and process any remaining funds to be refund as soon as possible or, in the case of an account customer, we may, at our discretion, (i) take payment for an outstanding balance, (ii) credit it to your account or, (iii) issue a refund.
5.1 Most of our goods are sold with a manufacturer's warranty, guarantee or similar assurance. Whilst we do not have any responsibility or liability under or in connection with any such warranty, guarantee or assurance, where possible, at our discretion, we will endeavour to process the request with the manufacturer ourselves. Otherwise, any complaint, query or claim under a manufacturer's warranty, guarantee or similar assurance must be made direct to the manufacturer.
6.1 In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you may cancel your order and return the items purchased to us by giving us notice of cancellation within 30 days of receiving the goods. In relation to goods delivered to you, if the goods are already in our delivery process, you may need to accept delivery of the goods before you can cancel your order.
6.2 Any goods ordered as a special item cannot be returned, this includes, but is not limited to cut cables, made to measure blinds, non-stock items.
6.3 Goods returned are subject to a 15% handling fee.
6.4 You will lose your right to cancel after the expiry of the 14 day period referred to in clause 6.1
6.5 To cancel your order you must inform us of your decision to cancel in writing via email, or face-to-face in-store. If you are cancelling because of a fault, please notify us of the fault at the time of cancellation.
6.6 If you have already accept delivery of the goods, once you have been provided with a RA number, you must return goods without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of cancellation at your cost. You must return any free gifts, any discounted additional products, and the complete packaging. At our discretion, we may offer the use of our courier service, this may attract a fee, which will be made known to you before your acceptance.
6.5 Where you cancel the entire order, we will also refund the standard delivery charges paid, for part order cancellation no refund for delivery is applicable. Should you have chosen any premium delivery option we will only refund you the fees applicable for standard delivery (if it is a complete order cancellation). We will pay the refund as within 30 days after the day:
6.5.1 you notified us to cancel your order, where you have not received the goods; or,
6.5.2 we receive the goods you returned to us.
6.6 We will endeavour to refund you using the same means of payment as you used to pay for your order or purchase.
6.8 In the event of goods being faulty or incorrect, we will meet the cost of return delivery provided STA Group nominate the carrier
6.9 Any goods that are damaged or defective on delivery must be made know to STA Group in writing within 3 days. We may at our option make good any shortages or non-deliveries
6.10 Without prejudice to your right to cancel orders, if you have notified us of a problem with the goods within 7 days of delivery or collection, we may at our option either offer to make good any shortage or non-delivery; replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective upon delivery or collection; or cancel the order (or part of the order affected) and refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question.
7.1 If you purchase goods from we accept no liability for any loss or compensation in business or otherwise (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise), other than any refund we make under these Terms and Conditions or otherwise at our discretion.
7.2 Goods are intended for use in the UK only and we cannot confirm that the goods comply with any laws, regulations or other standards applicable outside the UK. All goods are sold in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and are subject to any qualifications, representations or instructions contained in the documentation associated with the goods.
8.1 Where you place an order for or otherwise purchase age-restricted goods such as solvents and knives, you confirm that you are over the age of 18 and that (where applicable) delivery will be accepted by a person over the age of 18. We reserve the right to cancel your order or purchase if we reasonably believe you do not meet the age restrictions for certain goods.
